XBRL

The SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) announced on September 2007, that its 20-year-old EDGAR database of corporate regulatory filings will be updated and will be turned into an interactive database that uses XBRL.

XBRL stands for eXtensible Business Reporting Language. It is one of a family of "XML" languages which is becoming a standard means of communicating information between businesses and the internet.

Today, the SEC recognized hundreds accounting concepts within the US GAAP.

A mandate to use such data applies first to around 500 largest domestic public companies, with a $5 billion public float or more.

The regulations require a second wave of smaller companies to use the coding after June 2010, with full compliance for all companies scheduled for June 2011.

The SEC final goal is to mandate all companies to report via XBRL.

We can manage all of the tagging and filing details.

Even if you are a small or mid-cap company who will not be required to file in XBRL until 2011, we can get you ready now, so whenever the SEC mandates your first filing, it will go smoothly and easily.
